Linday Lohan May Be Off The Hook On Jewelry Store Case

The jewelery store that is in the center of the Lindsay Lohan necklace investigation may just have compromised any kind of prosecution possibilities through waiting greater than a day before phoning the police officers to report the incident... sources tell local gossip magazines.

The owner of Kamofie & Company says that Lindsay Lohan left their store with the $2,500 necklace upon January 22nd, yet she did not notify the LAPD until the 23rd. Our sources say the jewelry store owners says that she had tried contacting Lindsay's people on the 22nd to ask them to come back wit the item, however couldn't reach anyone. Here's the snag ... the store owner simply could have walked outside and knocked at Lindsay's door.

Lindsay says the store loaned her the actual necklace. Fact is ... jewelry store owners have thrown themselves from Lindsay, asking her to wear their stuff. The picture (above) shows Lindsay upon January 7, posing with another jewelery owner that loaned the celeb an expensive pendant.

In order to charge Lindsay, the District Attorney must prove she had a specific intention to permanently take the item as Lindsay Lohan walked out the door with the expensive piece, and that may be impossible to prove.
