Christoph Waltz Humble Beginnings

Christopher Waltz Early Filmography

You may not know it, but if you've already seen it in some movies, I think you can't question its prowess.
Christoph Waltz is an Austrian actor who started his career in the theater world. Occasionally he has participated in TV series ("Commissioner Rex") or "small screen" films (ie never released in the cinema, at least in Italy).
In 2008 his career changed forever.
At that time Mr. Quentin Tarantino was at work on his new film, "Inglourious Basterds". As often happens in his films, many characters were outlined in a detailed and particular way, so they were not easy to interpret.
Well, one of these characters was Colonel Hans Landa. Tarantino, in the script, had made him a versatile character and "in the round". So difficult to interpret that Tarantino was about to abandon the film project!
During the castings, no actor had in fact shown himself up to the role, so the director was starting to lose hope. Fortunately Christoph Waltz was introduced to him, to whom the part was masterly interpreted.
With that film, the actor won, in 2009, the prize for best actor at the Cannes Film Festival, the Golden Globe, other awards and, dulcis in fundo, the Oscar for best supporting actor.
Not bad for the big screen debut, eh?
Bastardi senza gloria has given wings to his career: in the course of a few years he has participated in films of great success interpreting never simple roles and always revealing himself to the task (for example in "Carnage" by Roman Polanski).
In 2012, to crown his again, he won another Golden Globe and another Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for his phenomenal performance in the film "Django Unchained", also by Quentin Tarantino, featuring actors of the caliber of Leonardo DiCaprio, Jamie Foxx and Samuel L Jackson.
